It is best to purchase your ticket for the palace online in advance to secure a time slot for your visit. You can receive a discount by purchasing a Vienna City Card ticket. You can purchase the ticket before activating your Vienna City Card. When entering the palace, you only need to present your ticket and activated Vienna City Card. Explore the rooms of the palace and immerse yourself in the history of the Habsburgs.

Afterwards, you can explore the park area in comfort with the Schönbrunn Panorama Railway. (Only during the summer months) An audio guide provides interesting information about the palace and the park. You can get off at the entrance to the zoo and visit it. You can buy a ticket directly at the ticket office and receive the discount when you show your Vienna City Card.

After visiting the oldest zoo in the world, take the Panorama Railway back to the palace entrance. From there, it is only a short walk to the Schönbrunn Palace Restaurant Joseph II. Enjoy classic Viennese cuisine such as Wiener Schnitzel, Grammelknödel, goulash, or Buchteln.

The Architekturzentrum Wien, Kunsthalle Wien, Leopold Museum, mumok, and MQ Freiraum showcase the many different facets of art in Vienna.

After this eventful day, enjoy dinner at the Wiener Rathauskeller and then attend one of the Mozart & Strauss concerts performed by the Vienna Hofburg Orchestra. The orchestra plays famous pieces by these and other composers and brings the music to life with ballet interludes.

Afterwards, head to the nearby Karlskirche for a moment of peace and quiet. Just a short tram ride along the Ringstrasse is the MAK – Museum of Applied Arts. Here you can see everyday objects, furniture, and design from different eras and parts of the world through the eyes of art.

Not far from the MAK is the Zwölf Apostelkeller. Here you can enjoy traditional Viennese cuisine such as schnitzel, apple strudel, goulash, or roast pork. Perfect for a good lunch to fortify yourself for the rest of the day.

Take the subway to the Danube and the Danube Tower. Take the elevator up to a height of 150 meters and enjoy the view over the city. On your way back to the city center, stop at Vienna's Praterstern and visit your favorite stars at Madame Tussauds. 

End the day with a delicious dinner at Witwe Bolte, followed by a stroll through the Spittelberg district.
