It is best to purchase your ticket for the palace online in advance to secure a time slot for your visit. You can receive a discount by purchasing a Vienna City Card ticket. You can purchase the ticket before activating your Vienna City Card. When entering the palace, you only need to present your ticket and activated Vienna City Card. Explore the rooms of the palace and immerse yourself in the history of the Habsburgs.
Afterwards, you can explore the park area in comfort with the Schönbrunn Panorama Railway. (Only during the summer months) An audio guide provides interesting information about the palace and the park. You can get off at the entrance to the zoo and visit it. You can buy a ticket directly at the ticket office and receive the discount when you show your Vienna City Card.
After visiting the world's oldest zoo, take the Panoramabahn cable car to Meidlinger Tor. A short walk will take you to Hollerei, a vegetarian restaurant with a varied menu and a beautiful outdoor dining area.
The Technical Museum is just a short bus ride away from the restaurant. Learn about historical objects and new technologies here!
End your eventful day with burgers, cocktails, and music at Vienna's Hard Rock Cafe.
At the end of the day, thanks to the Vienna City Card, you will have saved approximately €26,20 on your eventful day in Vienna! (Your savings will of course depend on your consumption in the participating restaurants).
The Wiener Linien 24-hour ticket is cheaper than buying individual tickets for 4 or more trips. Depending on the location of your hotel and whether you want to visit a breakfast restaurant beforehand, the 24-hour ticket is worth it.

Start in Vienna's city center at one of Vienna's most famous museums, the Albertina. Marvel at works of art by Monet, Picasso, Chagall, Kokoschka, and many other artists. The special exhibitions make a visit worthwhile whenever you are in Vienna.
Walk from the Albertina towards Time Travel Vienna. On the way, you can stop by several shops and buy souvenirs. Some shops in the city center offer discounts when you show your Vienna City Card. Time Travel Vienna takes you back in time and shows you the history of Vienna through a variety of exciting attractions featuring state-of-the-art technology.
Lunch is available at Cafe Museum, for example. Here you can enjoy classic Viennese cuisine and excellent pastries and desserts. In the afternoon, you can visit the Kunsthistorisches Museum (Art History Museum) and view art treasures dating back up to 5,000 years.
After this eventful day, enjoy dinner at the Wiener Rathauskeller and then attend one of the Mozart & Strauss concerts performed by the Vienna Hofburg Orchestra. The orchestra plays famous pieces by these and other composers and brings the music to life with ballet interludes.
Thanks to the Vienna City Card, you saved approximately €35.60 on your experiences in Vienna that day. (Your savings depend, of course, on your consumption in participating restaurants and shops).
The Wiener Linien 24-hour ticket is cheaper than buying single tickets for 4 or more trips. If you like to walk, this suggestion is also feasible without a public transport ticket. However, if you want to get around quickly, a 24-hour ticket for public transport is worthwhile.

After the bike tour, it's time for traditional Viennese cuisine. The Zwölf Apostelkeller restaurant serves classics such as schnitzel, apple strudel, goulash, and roast pork. Perfect for a good lunch to recharge your batteries for the rest of the day.
Take the subway to the Danube and the Danube Tower. Take the elevator up to a height of 150 meters and enjoy the view over the city. On your way back to the city center, stop at Vienna's Praterstern and visit your favorite stars at Madame Tussauds.
End the day with a delicious dinner at Witwe Bolte, followed by a stroll through the Spittelberg district.
With the Vienna City Card, you saved approximately €34.50 on this day program. (Your savings depend, of course, on how much you spend in the participating restaurants).
A 24-hour Wiener Linien ticket is worthwhile for this itinerary. The Danube Tower and Madame Tussauds are located outside the city center. However, you can reach all of the suggested destinations quickly and easily by subway and tram.
As you can see, even in just 24 hours in Vienna, you can save a lot with the Vienna City Card. The discounts at various concert and theater venues in the city are also particularly worthwhile. Take a look at our discount partners in the "Shopping" section to save on souvenirs, gifts, and Viennese handicrafts. Depending on the location of your hotel, your mobility, and your further travel plans, it may be worth purchasing a 24-hour Vienna public transport ticket in combination with your Vienna City Card or purchasing single tickets.
